Good but Pricy July 12, 2010 Mikey (NY, USA) This shovel certainly is better than most other shovels I have used but it does have two drawbacks. First, the price - especialy with shipping, was very expensive. Second, in my opinion the shovel does not hold as much snow as a half-round (plow shaped) shovel. However the ease in picking the snow up is nothing short of amazing. I had a back problem last winter but still needed to clear my driveway and walk and this shovel was the answer. Only other drawback is the handle. Comfortable but bit flimsy - mine felt like it was going to break at the end of last season.
Effective, but heavy March 6, 2010 William C. Mayse (Reston, VA USA) This shovel arrived just in time for us to use it against 22" of snow on our porch, driveway, and sidewalks. As advertised, the graphite blade releases snow more readily than others I've used. The blade's metal edge is also sharp and (I hope) sturdy, able to tear even clear or black ice loose from concrete. The handle has little or no flex, and all parts of the shovel seem well-made. My only beef is that it's relatively heavy, so a shovelful of snow can be fairly strenuous to throw--especially onto the top of an already-tall heap.
Good shovel but description is a bit confusing February 17, 2010 Autodidact 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The blade is no-stick because it is made out of plastic. It has a metal wear strip at the bottom to allow you to get under the ice and snow better. The term "graphite" refers to the color of the blade, as if anyone cares.
Good sturdy shovel. I bought just for the Ergonomic design! February 4, 2010 L. Hill (Kentucky, USA)
I purchased this snow shovel as a back-up to my Suncast SC3250 18-Inch shovel. I specifically got this for the ergonomic factor. We had a storm here in Cincinnati and there were none left in the stores! I'm about 6'2" tall, so I still had to "hunch" over a little while shoveling, but not as a bad as before with a straight-handle design.
Worth the Money February 1, 2010 Aaron Garland This shovel is a little heavy. You'll get used to it quickly and with no problem though. I've had a chance to use it to deal with two HEAVY snows. I love it. It's very well constructed. I'm sure I'll be using it for many years to come. It is a great tool to deal with the large amounts of snow and frigid temperatures that global warming has brought us. LOL. Seriously though I'm very impressed and pleased with my Suncast SC5350 shovel. It's well worth the price.
