The midwest rake March 27, 2010 RSK After 20" of snow and a little bit of melting, another storm showed up and left more than 25" additional on my roof! So I ordered the midwest rake and it showed up in 3 days via UPS. The rake is light-weight and easy to use, even with all of that snow on the roof. It is best for use on rancher-style homes, not 2 story homes or higher {buy the extension poles for those }. It was worth every penny !
Should do the trick March 21, 2010 Jennifer Bryson The snow on the roof was gone by the time I got it, although it came really fast. But looking it over, it appears to be sturdy and if we should get anymore snow this year (no please) it will get a lot of use. I'll probably have neighbors asking to use it too.
Looks like a very well made snow rake March 17, 2010 S. Taylor (Washington, DC) I haven't used it yet but by the looks of it, I would be surprised if it causes any problems. It seems well made and the long extension poles are also. You have to put the head on the main pole but it is easy to do. I gave it 4 stars because very few things are perfect even though I have no complaints about the rake.
Useful Tool for removing lots of snow March 14, 2010 K. Hess (United States) We had 3 feet of snow on our roof and were afraid of ice damn and roof damage. I had used a roof rake when I lived in Minneapolis but could not find one at the nearest hardware store in Maryland. I tried to order one from another vendor but he would have to back order until mid march - the snow would "hopefully" be gone by then. Amazon was able to ship it within a few days. The order was delayed because of a 2nd snow storm that hit the region but we had the rake before the weekend.
My husband and I took turns pulling the snow down from the roof. The snow was extremely heavy due to the depth and melt/refreeze that had occurred. The extended handles were a bit flimsy but the rake was light enough to allow the repeated lifts and pulls needed to get the snow down. Eventually, we got the lowest roof segment cleared and could see water running from an upper roof. The handle was too short to reach the higher roof but we were still happy with the results.
Snow rake 2010 March 13, 2010 G. Rottmann A great item to have for a snowy winter. Easy to assemble (and store), light weight, very sturdy, this item can handle a big job. Using this product will protect your roof and save your gutters, and eliminate water damage. The price is right. I bought two, one for myself and the other for my son.
